Airbag Usage

Airbag details

Airbag Diameter: Usually choose diameter 1.5m, when block is a little higher, could choose 1.8m or
2.0m. For small boat, could choose 1.0m or 1.2m.
Effective Length: means the cylindrical airbag body, not including terminal iron.
(1) ship width<=20m, theoretically effective length = boat width.
(2) ship width>20m, usually choose two-lines arrangement or staggered arrangement.
Tire-cord Layers: Normally choose 4, 6 or 8 layers. It's up to your ship tonnage.

Airbag Structure

Marine Airbags have the best designed structure which consists of different functional membranes
in rubber layers.
(1) Outer Rubber Layer
The outer rubber layer that covers the outside of marine airbag to protect under layers from abrasion and other external
forces. This compound has sufficient tensile and tearing strength to withstand any condition and
hard usage.
(2) Inner Rubber Layer
The inner rubber layer seals pressurized air inside marine airbags.
(3) Synthetic-Tire-Cord Layer as Reinforcement
The reinforcement cord layers, which are made of synthetic-tire-cord commomly used in tires, are arranged at ideal angles to hold the internal pressure and distribute stress evenly. So they can provide strong efficient reinforcement.
