Turmeric Fingers

Turmeric fingers are the rhizome of turmeric plant. Scientifically called as Curcuma longa, the turmeric fingers are rich in anti-oxidants. Further the bright yellow coloured rhizomes grow under the soil. Turmeric fingers are the dried rhizomes of the plant that are used for a number of purposes like cooking, colouring, cleaning of meat products, dyeing, etc. It is widely used in Ayurveda, siddha, Unani and even in Chinese medicine. Although a turmeric finger consists of various constituents including carbohydrates, It is added as a natural food colour ad for its flavour.
