Introduction:

Tongkat Ali, or Natural Aphrodisiacs, Land Warrior, the King of Forest, Panacea, it’s a kind of wild shrub which grows in the wet sandy soil of virgin tropical rainforest in Southeast Asia near the equator. In general, the maturity of Tongkat Ali is more than 5 years. The tree is evergreen with the max height of 12m (normal range of 4-6m) and the top base diameter at 15cm (normal range of 8-10cm).The trunk is almost unbranched and the featheriness leaves stand on the top of the trunk with the umbrella shape. Its unbranched root can reach to the depth of 2m. its leaves and fruits are also useful. In Malaysia, its leaves and fruit are often mashed and used to nourish and maintain skin. Nonetheless, the most valuable part is the root which is yellowish-white and very bitter. As a variety of efficacies, Tongkat Ali is called one of three national treasures in Malaysia (The other two are cubilose and tinware.)
