Neem oil is one of the age old ingredients of Ayurveda preparations. Popularly known in India as neem, Indian lilac has a peculiar shaped leaves that makes it easy to identify. Neem oil is a thick, dark, viscous liquid that has a bitter smell and taste. It is extracted from the seeds of neem. It has strong anti-bacterial properties and has been used as a disinfectant from times immemorial. However, one important caution is that neem oil is not safe for consumption.
