Product Description
Human CD4+/CD25+ Regulatory T Cells (Tregs), formerly known as suppressor T cells, are a subpopulation of T cells. They are derived from progenitor cells in bone marrow and play an important role in maintaining immune homeostasis. Tregs act by immunosuppression or downregulation of other immune cells, preventing autoimmune disease and chronic inflammation. However, its suppressiveness also limits some beneficial immune responses during microorganism infection and anti-tumor activity. Naturally occurring Tregs (nTregs) express CD4, CD25 and a key transcription factor forkhead box P3 (FOXP3). Human CD4+/CD25+ Regulatory T Cells also downregulate the expression of CD127 (or IL-7R), which can be used as Treg cells marker during identification and purification. Application
Tregs can be used in modelling immune responses to help understand autoimmune disorders. Their immunosuppressive roles can be useful in providing insight into immune therapeutics such as treatment for HIV and malaria infection. Human CD4+/CD25+ Regulatory T Cells can also be used to study tumor immunity in cancer treatment, facilitate transplantation and would healing.
