Description
Comb type bridge expansion joint is to coordinate the rotate of the bridge end and longitudinal displacement caused by natural factors, for example,when the temperature changes,the bridge occurs expansion and longitudinal deformation, vehicle loading also can cause the rotate of the bridge end and longitudinal displacement. In order to let the vehicle smoothly through the bridge deck and meeting bridge deck deformation ,need setting certain flexible device at the bridge expansion joint. This device is called the bridge expansion joints. The comb type expansion joint is in order to adapt to the modern highway transportation,then development the expansion joint products with the characteristics of waterproof, dust-proof, anti-skid, anti-corrosion, prevent noise .


The features of comb type bridge expansion joint:
1.The surface plate of comb type expansion joint  is non-slip channel steel plate, the bearing type structure break out from the intermesh bridge panel gap extend from left and right , having big stiffness ,can bear a large horizontal displacement,expansion amount can up to 420mm.
2. The building height of comb type expansion joint  is low. Comb type expansion joint can be installed within the height of bridge deck pavement layer,don't need  reserve rabbet  in the girder,greatly       convenient  the design and construction.
3. The applicability of the expansion joints is wide. And can be used on the new or old bridges,especially suitable for the replacement of retractor device of the old bridges' large displacement  rubber plate,  Is irreplaceable to the module type large displacement expansion joint (device) .
4. The car driving smooth, comfortable, don't jump, no noise.
5. The expansion joint component 's transportation and installation is convenient , and don't need long car transport,and don't need cranes loading and unloading.
6. The cost of the expansion joints is low ,comparing with the module type large displacement telescopic device,  it can save about 20%.


The installation steps and attention of the comb type expansion joint
1. In setting expansion joint, the rail and bridge deck pavement should disconnect . To make the construction and installation convenient, the component itself should have sufficient strength,  and should be connected to the bridge deck pavement  firmly, the special attention is, it should free deformation accordingly near the rail structure of the expansion joint  .
2.Setting out the cutting asphalt concrete .According to the width of A , pay attention to that is left and right asymmetry cutting along the girder center line  .
3.Excavation and clear clutter. The excavation depth should reach at least H value.
4. The retaining bolt positioning. Combined bolt hole with template lofting positioning, the error of screw position≤¯1mm. When boring hole shall not destroy the beam body structure, such as pre-stressed pipe, steel, etc.
5. Banding and transition the bottom steel grid , set up template, pouring C40 steel fiber reinforced concrete. The top surface elevation and smoothness shall be strictly controlled , and agree with bridge longitudinal slope , the roughness should be 0 ~ 1 mm.
6. Tie the reinforcement in  the distribution of excessive segment .
7. Pouring the C40 steel fiber concrete in excessive segment .
8. Install  water stop neoprene sheets, stainless steel plate and the tooth profile, tightened  with a nut  . In order to prevent the screw and nut loose,must painting locking glue on the thread  , A small amount of spot welding fixed screw and nut surface ,at  last pouring waterproof and locking perfusion epoxy resin into screw hole.
9 Water curing of concrete,  prevent frostbite and keep moisture in winter .
10.Pouring waterproof ointment into the  tooth seam   .
