Basic Information: Goldenseal, are known as goldenseal Lian and also known for the perennial herb. Which originating in Canada and the eastern United States. Its dried roots and rhizomes are put into medicine. The medicinal value of Goldenseal are mainly depending to the high content of isoquinoline alkaloids which including hydras tine,berberine,hydrastinine, canadine,canadaline and ect.. And also containing opium poppy, chlorogenic acid, phytosterols, resin, volatile oil constituents and other elements. Goldenseal has played anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, convergence bleeding, callus, gallbladder role. It is widely used to eliminate respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive tract mucosal inflammation in North America. People has developed a variety of agents, which can be used for gastroenteritis, little stomach acid, gastric ulcer, dyspepsia, upper respiratory tract infections through oral administration; and which also can be used for topical treatment of psoriasis, hemorrhoids, goose head sores or wounds.
