Gaggia conceived the Classic with user-growth in mind. Engaging the rocker switch heats it up to brew temp in just over five minutes, which is reflected by its illumination upon reaching brew temp. Another stand out commercial feature is the 3-way solenoid valve, which relieves pressure after steaming and dries out the puck for easy disposal. Given the single boiler design, it is necessary for the machine to heat up to steam temperature prior to texturing the milk, which it does in sixty seconds or less. To return to brew temp, simply flush the group of all steam. All these thoughtful features continue to impress us year after year while other machines fade into obscurity.
