The GE Fanuc IC694BEM331 Genius Bus Controller interfaces a PACSystems RX3i and a Genius I/O serial bus. In addition to the Bus Controller, the bus will also serve: Genius blocks, remote drops, VersaMax and Field Control I/O Stations, PLCs with Genius Bus, Genius Hand-Held Monitor (HHM), and numerous hosts.
Featuring 128 bytes exchange with each device on the Genius I/O bus, the Genius blocks and other devices report faults in an automatic fashion, including alarms and certain other previously defined issues to the bus controller. The bus controller then manages any diagnostic messages it receives, which are then read by the CPU routinely. Faults can then be displayed in the fault table if the programming software is employed.
