The IC693CPU311 module is a 5-slot rack with an embedded CPU in base manufactured by GE Fanuc. It’s a 16-bit system belonging to the 90-30 series of PLCs with a processor speed of 10 MHz and a registry memory of 1 kilobyte. It comes with 160 Input / Output points with no Floating-point math.
Embedded CPUs have the following properties: The CPU type cannot be changed as it is soldered onto the backplane board in the baseplate. Embedded CPUs do not have a time-of-day clock. Since they lack expansion connectors like modular baseplates do, they do not support expansion or remote racks. If power supply is removed or battery disconnected, the CPU has “super” capacitors that store sufficient charge to maintain memory circuits for a while.
