Product Description
Flavour enhancers are commonly added to commercially produced food products (eg. frozen dinners, instant soups, snackfoods) to make them taste more 'savoury'.

Range of our flavor enhancer includes:

• Monosodium Glutamate
• Maltol
• Ethyl Maltol

Monosodium Glutamate

Monosodium glutamate, also known as sodium glutamate and MSG, is a sodium salt of the non-essential amino acid glutamic acid. It is used as a food additive and is commonly marketed as a flavor enhancer. It used to be predominantly made from wheat gluten, but is now mostly made from bacterial fermentation; it is acceptable for celiacs following a gluten-free diet.

Our optimum quality Monosodium Glutamate is generally used in packaged foods such as soups, sauces, seasonings and instant snacks to enhance the taste and flavor. These are widely used in Japanese and Chinese cuisine as well in other cuisines.

Maltol

Maltol is a naturally occurring organic compound that is used primarily as a flavor enhancer. It is found in the bark of larch tree, in pine needles, and in roasted malt (from which it gets its name). It is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in hot water, chloroform, and other polar solvents. Because it has the odor of caramel, maltol is used to impart a sweet aroma to fragrances. Maltol has a taste and odor reminiscent of freshly baked bread, and is used as a flavor enhancer (E number E636) in breads and cakes.

Ethyl Maltol

Ethyl has a sweet odor that can be described as caramalized sugar and cooked fruit. It is an important flavourant for the food, beverage, and fragrance industry. Ethyl maltol is non-toxic, highly pleasant to human sense of smell, and easily detected by the human, with as little as 10 parts per million perceivable in air.

Application
BEVERAGES
MALTOL and ETHYL MALTOL usage is widespread and varied.
For fruity, and sweet beverages they are important ingredients for improving the flavor of orange, pineapple, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry and fruit blend flavors. Recently their use has expanded to exotic flavors such as mango, guava and passion fruit. MALTOL and ETHYL MALTOL enhance the natural, sweet, grape aroma in grape juice, as well as the flavor and aroma of apple juice.
ICE CREAM, ICE MILK AND FROZEN YOGURT
The creamy rich nature of ice cream is well suited to the use of MALTOL and ETHYL MALTOL. MALTOL is particularly well suited for use in vanilla and chocolate flavors, while ETHYL MALTOL is an excellent flavor enhancer for fruit flavors.
DAIRY PRODUCTS
Vanilla and chocolate puddings to which MALTOL is added are richer in flavor quality and aroma. Starchy off tastes are minimized. Butterscatch, maple, caramel and coconut also have improved flavor with less aftertaste. Other dairy products that benefit from MALTOL and ETHYL MALTOL include flavored milks, cultured products and shakes.
