Ethanol is an organic compound, commonly known as alcohol, the structure of simple type of CH3CH2OH or C2H5OH, molecular formula of C2H6O, and is saturated monobasic alcohol with a hydroxyl group and is a colorless and transparent liquid under normal temperature and perssure.There isa smell of wine, slightly sweet.
The ethanol liquid density is 789kg/m (20 ℃), and gas density is 1.59kg/m3 , and the boiling point is 78.3℃, and the melting point is -114.1℃, and whose vapor can be miscible with water in any ratio. It can be miscible with chloroform, methanol and other organic solvents, relative density (d15.56 0.816.).
Purpose
Ethanol is widely used, and can be uses to make acetic acid, beverage, essence, dye, fuel and so on. In medical industry, ethanol of 70%~75% volume fraction is commonly used as disinfectant etc., and which is widely used in the defense industry, medical and health care, organic synthesis, food industry, industrial and agricultural production.
