Product Description
Aluterus monoceros (Unicorn Leather Jacket) is a sea water fish which is abundantly found in the western Indian ocean. Its length is up to 76 cm.
As you examine it closely, you will realize that the skin of Unicorn Leather Jacket fish is rough as a file or sandpaper. Aside from roughness, their skin is anatomically thick as compared to other reef-associated species
It is wild-caught. The skin is sun dried.
Unicorn Leather Jacket’s skin can be used to derive collagen as an alternative to dried fish scales.
This wild caught sea fish eats many species of fishes. Collagen derived from this fish contains Glycine, Alanine, Proline, Hydroxyproline and glutamine.
The dried skin of Unicorn Leather Jacket fish does not have any odor and is oil free.
Acid-solubilized collagen (ASC) can be extracted from Unicorn Leather Jacket Fish by acetic acid and purified by dialysis, lyophilization and super-critical (SC) CO2 extraction techniques.
