Metal dome arrays is a switch contact system . It is composed of a PET sheet containing a metal dome and plays an important tactile switch between the user and the instrument .
The snap dome on the conductive film is located on the conductive part of the PCB (above the gold finger) . When pressed , the center point of the pot piece is concave and contacts the line of the PCB , thereby forming a loop and passing current to realize the switching function .
The meta dome arrays can be attached to various circuit substrates , such as a hard PCB board , an FPC soft board , a PET flexible circuit , or the like . Metal shrapnel conductive films are commonly used in telecommunications equipment , industrial equipment , automotive systems , and household appliances . Compared to conventional mechanical switches , it is lighter in weight , thinner in size , and smaller in size , enabling smaller and thinner packages; durable , mechanically and electrically stable for rugged and high-performance applications . Can be used in combination with film panels , silicone buttons and light guides .
