Our Vietnamese artisans start by harvesting thin pieces of bamboo, which are cut to proportion, boiled, and slowly dried. Nimble fingers then carefully thread each narrow piece of bamboo with wire and create a single, tapering strand of bamboo that is attached to a wooden frame.

With the initial work complete, skilled Vietnamese artists take over. Each curtain is hung in front of a full-sized drawing and a talented artist hand-applies the design, deftly rolling tiny sponge paintbrushes back and forth to cover the bamboo strands completely - all 360 degrees.
