PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY
Composition: The name d-tetramethrin is used for a (1R)- rich product containing cis-trans- isomers in the ratio 20:80. Mol. wt.: 331.4; M.f.: C19H25NO4 Form: d-Tetramethrin is a viscous, yellow or brown liquid. V.p.: 3.2x10-4 mPa (20 ¯C). KOW: logP = 4.35; S.g./density: 1.11 (25 ºC). Solubility: In water 2-4 mg/l (23 ºC). In hexane, methanol, xylene >500 g/kg.

APPLICATIONS
Mode of action: Contact insecticide with knockdown action.
Uses: Used on Blattodea, Culicidae, Muscidae and other pests of public health. Often mixed with other insecticides and synergists.
Formulation types: AE; EC; EO; Concentrates for the preparation of oil-based and water-based pressurised formulations.

Oral: Acute oral LD50 for rats >5000 mg/kg.
Skin and eye: Acute percutaneous LD50 for rats >5000 mg/kg.
Inhalation: LC50 (3 h) for rats >1180 mg/m3.

ECOTOXICOLOGY
Fish: LC50 (96 h) for rainbow trout 0.010 mg/l.
