Costus Root Oil

Costus Root Oil is one of rare essential oils. The dry roots of the Saussurea lappa are used for the extraction of the oil, using steam distillation. The plant is a hebaceous perennial plant that bears yellow flowers. They are mostly found in the Himalayas. The oil is a light yellow to brown liquid with tenacious odour, somewhat like the smell of the old wood. It is loaded with medicinal properties like antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, bactericidal, carminative, digestive, expectorant, febrifuge, stimulant, stomachic, and tonic. It blends well with Costus Root Essential Oil blends well with Patchouli, Opopanax, Ylang-ylang, and any oil with oriental and floral fragrances.
