Calamus Oil

Calamus Oil is extracted from a red-like aquatic plant that has sword-shaped leaves & small greenish-yellow flowers. It belongs to the plant family of Araceae. All parts of plant have peculiar, agreeable fragrance. Calamus oil is extracted from fresh roots or unpeeled dried root by steam distillation process. The extract is helpful as herbal medicine for treatment of nervous complaints, vertigo, headaches & dysentery. It is a thick pale yellow liquid. It blends well with cananga, cinnamon, labdanum, olibanum, patchouli, cedarwood, amyris, spice and oriental bases. The plant grows along the side of lakes and streams. The long branch is immersed in the mud and rooted there. This priceless herb is native to India and Slovenia and is now grown in North America, Europe and Asia
