Synonyms : 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediolmono (2-methylpropanoate),CS-12, which is developed by Guangzhou DongHuang Chemical Technology Co, Ltd(Guangzhou New Nadi Materials Co., Ltd), is a coalescent solvent widely used in latex architectural trade paints.
It is a slow evaporating solvent and difficult to dissolve in water. They provide many excellent properties to the coating: high scrub resistance, color development, stable property ect. It serves as an excellent coalescing aid for emulsion polymers with good hydrolytic stability, can be used in different kinds of latex paints, such as high PH latex coatings. After adding CS-12 into latex coatings, it was adsorbed by emulsion polymers and soften them, so that it can complete the fusion process when drying the film. Because of the excellent hydrolytic stability, CS-12 won’t be absorbed with water when painted on porous material.
