Product Description
coluracetam,135463-81-9,99% nootropic/mkc-231,mk231 Acadesine is an analog of AMP that can stimulate AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activity. AMPK is an enzyme that is involved in the process of cellular energy homeostasis. The net effect of AMPK activation is stimulation of fatty acid oxidation and the creation of water-soluble molecules that are produced by the liver during periods of low food intake for cells of the body to use as energy instead of glucose. Some research has shown that AICAR injected mice may have more slow-twitch type muscle fibers that are more energy-efficient, in comparison to non-injected mice . AICAR has been shown to precondition the heart shortly before or during ischemia , a restriction of blood to tissues, causing a shortage of oxygen and glucose. When preconditioning has preceded myocardial infarction, there is a chance that cell death will be hindered, which will consequently allow for a greater chance success of reperfusion therapy . Studies have shown that when AICAR is administered one day prior to reperfusion, it prevents post ischemic leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesive interactions with increased Nitric Oxide (NO) production . Treatment through the use of AICAR has also been shown to improve recovery post-ischemic injury related surgery .

Application
Coluracetam enhances high-affinity choline uptake (HACU) which is the rate limiting step of acetylcholine (ACh) synthesis, and is the only known choline uptake enhancer to currently exist. Studies have shown Coluracetam to improve learning impairment on a single oral dose given to rats which have been exposed to cholinergic neurotoxins. Subsequent studies have shown that it may induce long-lasting procognitive effects by changing the choline transporter regulation system.
