The Allen-Bradley 22B-D4P0N104 is part of the PowerFlex 40 Sensorless Vector Control capable drive. With Sensorless Vector Control, the drive is capable of providing High-starting Torque as well as varying Torque output across the drive’s speed range. The 22B-D4P0N104 is compatible for use in lifting, conveying and similar applications with varying loads.

The 22B-D4P0N104 is primarily used to control and modulate speed of AC motors. With modulating speed, the connected motor may be used in more complex control strategies that requires increased accuracy. Compatible motor rating for this drive is 1.5 kW (2.0 HP) motor.

The 22B-D4P0N104 is powered by an input voltage supply of 342-528VAC, 3-Phase and input current of 5.7 Amperes. The 22B-D4P0N104 delivers a continuous output voltage of 0-460VAC, output current of 4.0 Amperes, output frequency range of 0-400 Hz. It has an enclosure rating of IP20 / NEMA UL Type Open with top cover removed and IP30 / NEMA UL Type 1 with cover installed along an optional conduit kit.

The drive also features process PID capability which allow it to act as a stand-alone controller, used to automatically regulate motor speed for process or machine control. Aside from the internal process PID capability, this drive has an embedded RS485 communication port which allow the drive to be connected to a daisy-chain RS485 network. It other protocols such as Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet I/P, LonWorks, DeviceNet and RS232 is exiting in the process area, appropriate modules that support such communication protocols may be added to the drive.

This control feature provides high levels of torque for excellent speed and current regulation, linear acceleration, and digital input response time and repeatability. At a 100% load, the motor operates at synchronous speed and its Autotune feature provides a method for setting the flux current and IR voltage drop which affect the sensorless vector control performance. The 22B-D4P0N104 PowerFlex variable drive provides a fixed keypad as a human-machine interface, and it is through this keypad that the device operators and supervisors will be able to modify or input new variables into the system. This drive is a standard drive that does not include filters. The 22B-D4P0N104 PowerFlex variable drive comes with a cooling fan integrated into it. When mounting the drive, the users need to make sure that this cooling fan is not blocked by any object or by any other equipment that is located nearby.
