The standing assist device serves to support occupants with limited lower limb strength and/or joint problems by reducing their physical effort required when transitioning from a sit to stand position.
Moreover, by assisting the occupant, the device has the side benefit of also reducing effort required by the caregiver when transferring the occupant.
