Qingdao Evershine Group Co., Ltd, owned and operated by Nancy Tao (a.k.a. Meiyan Tao) of Qingdao, is a fraudulent company using their website (http://www.evershinepaper.com/) and Alibaba.com as platforms to meet and lure foreign business. Once a company finds Qingdao Evershine Group Co., Ltd initiates contact on Alibaba.com, she then purposely moves her business dealings privately over Skype and email so as to avoid accountability through Trade Assurance. Qingdao Evershine Group Co., Ltd is essentially a front for one woman scam operation, not the $50 million+ company portrayed on the Alibaba website. Even the picture of herself and her supposed factory on Alibaba is a fraud, as is the company information listed. I know this as I have been to China, I have met her and I have personally seen her lack of facilities and employees. After months of not receiving anything and being hit with numerous unexplainable “fees”, I went to China and saw a makeshift warehouse space in the middle of nowhere with an elderly villager as her “employee”. All materials and machines had been supplied by our company, and we were paying the rent for this supposed “factory space”. Once Ms. Tao gets an initial payment for goods from the foreign company, she proceeds to invent additional fees and costs, essentially creating a situation where the investor has invested money and does not want to lose that investment. She creates a hostage situation, where the customer must pay more for goods already paid in full. She invents taxes and other additional expenses, or inflates the expense so that she makes a cut. If she ever even delivers a product, it is not the product, quantity or quality initially agreed on. We paid for 13 tonnes of raw material to be made into bags by Ms. Tao’s. We paid much more in invented fees to protect our initial investment from this scam artist, not knowing if we would receive anything. After many months we got 11.5 tonnes back, although the final weight should have been in excess of 13 tonnes including ink and glue used. I believe that if I had not gone to China I would have received nothing back. Even at the last moment she would not release my goods without one last extortion attempt. While in Qingdao she threatened my life and I had to file a report with the local authorities. I have been contacted by others who have been victim of Qingdao Evershine Group/Nancy Tao’s scams, including another Canadian who was unsure of how to proceed after numerous extortion attempts. I am posting this to protect other investors from Ms. Nancy Tao’s fraudulent dealings. Besides paper products, she has branched out into selling pet food and supplies.

RECOMMENDATION: |
Crooks front themselves as large corporations to get business from abroad. Whenever possible, get and check references and never pay everything upfront. Have a third party meet with the other company if you cannot meet with them yourself. If using Alibaba do everything through the site and use Trade Assurance. Also save all records as Alibaba's system clears after 60 days.
